  • 1pound boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • 2whole carrots (peeled)
  • 2stalk celery
  • 1/2 yellow onion
  • 1clove garlic (peeled)
  • 148-ounce carton chicken broth
  • 2cups water
  • 2 chicken bouillon cubes
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 2tablespoons ground thyme
  • salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 1cup wide egg noodles
  1. Thoroughly clean chicken and place in slow cooker.
  2. Chop carrots, celery, onion, and garlic. Add to slow cooker.
  3. Add bay leaves, thyme, salt, pepper, and bouillon cubes to slow cooker.
  4. Pour chicken broth and water to slow cooker.
  5. Turn on slow cooker and program to cook on low for 8 hours.
  6. After 8 hours, remove chicken breasts, shred with two forks, and add shredded chicken back into slow cooker.
  7. Remove bay leaves and discard.
  8. Add egg noodles to slow cooker and cook on low for 30 minutes.
