Mask Monday: How to Have Soft Feet Overnight
It’s #MaskMonday!
And, it’s also November which means we’ve officially entered “the holiday season.” When I think of the holidays, I think of cooler weather, my favorite cold-weather meals, and being surrounded by family and friends. With all of the excitement that this time brings, I often neglect self-care. One of my favorite ways to pamper myself is by getting a pedicure. But—to be honest—I’m all for saving a few bucks at the nail salon, especially in the fall and winter when I’m not showing off my feet anyway. Instead of a pedicure, I opt for a polish change to match my fingernails but I end up paying in another way by having to deal with dry, cracked feet.
That’s why I’m dedicating this #MaskMonday to my feet. I want to have soft feet, even when they aren’t being displayed in a cute pair of sandals. Because let’s face it, having to deal with dry feet getting stuck to your bedsheets at night is not a pleasant feeling. If you’re like me and you want to know how to have soft feet overnight, check out these tips.
Tips for How to Have Soft Feet Overnight
- Use a pumice stone, frequently. I use my pumice stone daily in the shower or bath. The water helps loosen those tough areas and makes it easy to scrub off dead skin. Once I’ve scrubbed off the tough, dry skin by hand, it makes moisturizing easy.
- Petroleum jelly is your friend. This is a tip my grandmother taught me. Slathering a hefty amount of petroleum jelly on your feet and putting on soft, thin socks before going to bed helps you have smooth feet in the morning. Warning: You may want to have the socks close by after applying the petroleum jelly; walking could get dangerous (not that I know from experience or anything).
- Use a foot mask or scrub. I love to use the same DIY remedy I would for my face on my feet. I’ve found that my three-ingredient DIY mask for oily skin works as an awesome exfoliating and hydrating scrub for my feet. It’s obviously better to use while in the bathtub so that you can take time to massage the scrub into each foot.
All of these tips can be combined to obtain soft feet overnight.
